Well, while browsing through the File Manager in Tracker, i noticed that on my D: where keep my videos, they had all changed to camcoder symbols, after i played them (in .3gp format) with no sound, i noticed a new file appear in the same folder called "camcoder.3gp", i tried playing it and it was nothing. Again i tried playing my video, lo and behold there was sound, and it played in full screen very well. (have to turn backlight to "on" and power save to "off", otherwise it get's very annoying!) All i can think of is that when i played my clips in camcoder it created an audio codec for them called "camcoder.3gp". Also after playing a movie created by camcoder (i presume), i now have a file called "camcoder.mp4". Don't know if this is of any use, i just thought it interesting.

.3gp is a video format, that is being used by 3G phones. i convert all my videos to this format, using pvauthor. Unfortunately i have no idea as to what i've done to enable videos with sound.

To help you all the answer is this:
The P800 comes installed with Packet Video Player. This can play any MPEG4 video.
There are usually two way of producing an MPEG4. The first one is to produce a video with the sound encoded using the AAC standard/codec. The other way is to use the AMR audio standard (the standard preffered by Nokia phones).
The Philips Camcoder video recorder/player (I assume that's what yor all talking about) can only cope with MPEG4 vids that have had their audio encoded using the AMR standard.
So that's why you can play the P800 supplied video (World of Connectivity) and get sound from the Packet Video player but you only get video from the Camcoder program.

you have answered the question yourself.video plays back smoother without sound, because the processor works harder when playing video&sound.....

I can play *some* of my .mp4's full screen in camcoder with sound and its still smoother than pvplayer.
