Ever notice that when you take a pic and it is saying "just wait" the pic looks fine. But when it asks you to discard/save it it looks like crap. Is there anyway to change this or is this just how the cookie crumbles ?

Same scenario here. I even had blue lines and dots. But after the upgrade, it looks fine to me.

The difference between the two pictures is just while viewing at the phone screen:
While you're pointing at the object to shoot you have 100% of the screen full with the picture. When you make the picture you're shown the options row and the phone resizes the picture, thus changing the quality (but only on screen) - the original quality is not affected.
I updated my phone with R1L yesterday and I noticed that I have some strange horizontal lines while pointing at the object... and blue/red dots around ;-(

Well, I wasn't really right... I am wrong about the size of the screen.. I don't know why this impression was left in me that it is first full screen and then there is a row with send/discard buttons... In fact you all know that there is a row with capture/more buttons, so I guess it is not the resizing that changes the quality of the picture.
I don't know if it is only me, but before R1L I didn't notice this horizontal line of blue/red dots in the middle of my screen in camera mode.. duh...
