Hi all,
My P800's fully set-up with GPRS-wap and GPRS-mail data accounts, and I'v been using it to web-browse and get/send emails for weeks now. No problem there then.
However, the other day, I received the 'Activation rejected' error message a few times when trying to get/send email.
Anyone else encounteredd this error?
Steven.

I did get this a few times when I had a P800 but it seemed to clear itself suggesting it was an intermittent network problem althouh a couple of times I managed to clear it by switching the phone off and on.
Also, using the same sim in my T610 I have never seen that problem but I do sometimes get another problem with GPRS on my T610 that I got on the P800. If I am roaming and switch to a non GPRS supported carrier and then switch back to a supported GPRS carrier the GPRS will not work until I turn the phone off and on.

@masseur - Thanks.
Groan, another glitch associated with

hardware...??
Coincidence I guess, but the error message only occured after using the camera, and then sending the photo with the 'send as > email' function. I've had no problems ceating an email and attaching photos that way. Coincidence like I say....

I'm having the same problem right now. Any fresh ideas, how to get rid of it? Reboot did not help...

Disconnect the GPRS, then Get/Send again. Additionally, move to a different signal-mast cell.
It continues to plague me, but is pretty rare....

I get that message when the mail server is unavaliable (check by doing "ping mail.myisp.com" in DOS if you have access to a PC at the time). Once the server is back up, everything clears and it's OK again. So sometimes it's just a case of being patient!

Activation rejected is caused by the fact that GPRS activation has failed. Usually, this is due to a bug on the telco side, or a particular network issue.
When it happend to me, I was very worried. Going back home, I still got the error. I had to turn off my phone to release the issue.
The bug in the P800 is that once it gets an error message during activation, it doesn't really try a full activation again (probably to save battery, as it assumes the phone company's network is working correctly), which leaves it at this status.

spc and oferlaor
I was told by the Vodafone helpdesk that when I had the Activation error it was because they were having problems with their GPRS.

This is according to orange uk....
The problem is that the network does not allow the phone to connect to the network. In most cases this is because the phone does not end the previous gprs session correctly. So rebooting the phone would solve this as the phone would try a completely new connection to gprs. Also, the problem may be caused by the camera app (or whatever app it uses to send pics) not ending the gprs session properly - that is just speculation though.
-I know this because I've been having the same problems with my p800. It might also occur if there is a problem with sending the authentication data - i.e. some of your password gets corrupted in transmission or something.
