I know this has been discussed before here, but I can't find a proper answer.
I charged my battery, as mentioned in the manual, for ~4 hours. Since then I have been unable to get long use out of the battery. My usage has been normal with the usual playing around with the phone checking its features and all that...but I would imagine it would last longer than just one day. I discharged the battery once completely and then let it charge for two hours [This was my first recharge]. The battery lasted for about a day here as well. I left the battery discharge again completely and let it charge this time for about ~15 hours with the phone being on standby (ie on) for about 12 of those 15 hours. The phone was turned off after the 12th hour. After turning on the phone, someone called me and say after an hour or so, I just checked the battery and it is down by one notch. This definitely isn't normal.
What do I do? Anyone got any advice? I'm desperate.

Constant use of camera and java will discharge you battery quicker. If you are suspicious that your battery is at fault, take it back to the dealer.

Ofcourse, but also Nokia 7250, P800 phones I tried have these futures and I played with these two phone alot. .These phones both have better standby/talk time.
Its not only camera and java or ringingtone usage that is in count...
Some of T610's inner software/hardware are really draining the battery worse than they should...
The battery T610 has is very good, it has 770mAh and it should be more than enough for that phone..
Tha P800 has a 1000mAh battery, but it also has larger and lighter screen and better camera and also louder speaker, more advanced OS.. Still I used this phone for almost a week without charging it again.. I've been using it alot, with video playback, playing games like MIB and everyother function I have on the phone..
Someday soon I will try my T610, charging it full and remove the sim card and start the phone without touching it.. and I'll see if it can pass 315 hours as claimed!!
What I know for sure is that it cannot hold a 14 hour call..
We have a GSM Antenna Master 200 meters from my home!!
this should be pretty optimal.. (I can see it from my window)

To the thread starter..one of the worst things you could have done is discharge the battery completely. Li-Ion batteries can be damaged by doing this, and unlike NiCad batteries, it will NOT lenghten the life of battery.

Hehe. .ok. .I am so angry about my t610 battery that I went over board.. hehe,.. no I dont use every function all the time. .
I normally have it on as usual and bluetooth on all the time.. of course sometimes I play with the phone. .
And of course having the GSM Master 200 meters from my home helps alot
and for me it hold 4 days using the phone normally.. and if I dont use it I might get almost a week. .
But compared to my t610 even if I dont use it I get 2,5 day. . And having bluetooth on drains the battery even more. .so I am lucky if I can have it 2 days.. 1.5 day.. (And treat mea Li-ion battery good)
But if a p800 lasts more than a t610 then something is wrong..
I have a question though, what is the standby of an IPAQ, compared to a p800?

Hard to say. If it last only for a day with normal use, then it is probably faulty. It would probably be best to take it back to the store and talk to them about it...

sure it would be nice with an even better battery but
it lasts me 4days&nights even though I played alot with
the camera (I use it to talk alot when at work).

This is a new phone with a new battery.
