now my 12months contract is over with orange, i wanna go 2 pay as u go to same myself on the montly charge, BUT my phone is locked,
do i have the rite to ask for my phone to be unlocked now the 12months is over? surly i do?
pls let me know if u know anything

When the contract period expires, you can call them to get the code to unlock the phone

dont quote me on this but AFIK the operator is obliged to unlock the phoen after the contract expires on request as the phone is actualy your property now and not the property of the network as during your contract. altho some operators may charge upto £20.
some 1 i know was on orange contract and he wanted it unlocked after 6 months so he phoned them up and they wanted £220 for it as that is the amount of line rental he would have payed and then a £20 unlocking fee cos it was mid contract

gonna try some markets i know round here prob b abit cheeper! i dont see why i have to pay 2 get it unlocked! its a bloody cheek

orange is a pain in the ass to get unlocked. i managed to get my old 3310 to accept any sim but it wouldent get signal but as soon as i put in my orange sim it got signal. so im guessin its locked there end some how. aswell.
