I was told via this forum that to get MMS setup on O2 I have to either phone them or email them to get my simcard "provisioned". I opted to email them and after a delay of about 9 days I finally got a reply: They stated that because I am on one of the old "Genie" online tariffs (unlimited txt's/£9.99 a month) that they could not "provision" my simcard to be capable of MMS and that if I wanted to use MMS i would have to change contracts. Obviously the same contract that I am on now isnt available anymore so i would have to opt for a more expensiver one. Is this a load of crap because they want me to change my contract and is there any way around it or do i have to change contracts simply to use this technology

They did that to me but didn't tell me. You just end up with their 300 texts, 300mins wap/gprs a month with a minimum top-up of £10 a month. There isn't anypoint complaining about it - you either sign up for it and get MMS/GPRS or you dont.

Orange do the same thing with the tariffs before Your Plan. They wont MMS or gprs provision them. The system is probably designed not to support a genie tariff with gprs. This message was posted from a T68i
