Hello, I read a post here calling for sockets and better java on the t610.
So I made a petition at petitononline.com, and if you want better java, then sign it.

We need LOTS of people to sign it, and then send the petition to SonyEricsson. Its for people that own the T610 and people who are thinking about getting it.
Lots of people come to this board, so if we all sign it then we could be listened to. Also please post a link to the petition if you own a site etc... that would really help.
I've noticed people reading this post BUT NOT SIGNING THE PETITION!!! Even if you dont have the T610 or even want one, the faster SE sorts out JAVA on its phones, the better for every SE owner.

Count me in for the sockets and better (quicker) java but I agree with Sonyericsson-man on that! Also who knows what the people at

I also don't think that everyone who signs the petition needs to reply here to say they did it otherwise why bother with the petition page in the first place? every one who thinks this will work can simply reply here as there is prob more chance of SE seeing it here than there.

Petition Online is widely respected and does not give away any information..it gives you the option of keeping your email private.. Besides.. you dont need to add a real email address.
Of course they will not listen if people refuse to sign it. But if you dont want to, that ok. Hopefully everyone else will

Well... I just signed the petition, under false email addy as usual. As Masseur stated: Beware of giving out your addy on that site. Bad experiences here as well.
The chance that SE would actually do something about this, based solely on a petetion is defiantely zero, but one can only hope that this helps to further the *cause*!

You must not compare this to the T68 petition. JAVA on T68 was pretty much impossible for many reasons. However on T610 the JAVA will be (and actually already has been) updated in new firmware versions. Sockets, and even perhaps MIDP2 is possible.

As far as the petition is concerned I don't believe it will have much effect on
. The reason I started the original thread (
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=30904&forum=2 ) was to inform the T610 users of the shortcomings of the JAVA implementation, as I believe that continious e-mails, phonecalls, and general nagging from T610 users to
Customer Service will have a much greater effect then any petition, thread, or website.

SE will not listend to that.. noone off the big producers on the phone marked has done that. and they will not do that in the uppcoming time..
They only improved jave because all other manufactures did that... they have to do that, if they want do be, between the best producers.
