I posted a similar topic earlier but even I Can't find it anymore!!!. I want to use the T610 browser using dial up networking to my ISP, instead of WAP or GPRS.

I dont want to connect my laptop or any PDA, jsut want to use dial up networking to conect to the internet on the phone instead of GPRS/WAP as I will use it very very rarely and GPRS is quite expensive with Etisalat, my GSM Operator (monthly rental + per mb)

Thanx

Was this the previous post you were looking for?

To create a dial up connection on the T610 go to connectivity, data comm., data account and select "new account". Here choose GSM data instead of GPRS data and then enter the setting you need including dialling number.

This is not supported on T610. Perhaps if better JAVA support is added to T610 in the future this might become possible through JAVA applications

[EDIT] I guess I missunderstood. I thought you wanted to browse WAP on your phone through an internet connection on your PC, which is not supported. When you are using a dial-up connection from your phone to an internet provider you ARE using WAP, so your question was a bit misleading.

Masseur, I tried wot U said, on entering an address in the browser, the phone starts diallin to the internet (same connecting as the one I Use to check my POP Mails), it authenticates for soem time, and thne gives me a msg saying cannot connect, check ur connection settings. What to do?.

Here are my Settings: Under Wap Profile, I've put Connect Using to the Same a/c I use to check POP Mails, IP address is the one I get from my operator for WAP Settings.

Help needed

Hmmm. well this page shows the configuration settings required for wap with your carrier, Etisalat, so all I can suggest you do is double check them again and call their customer support if you still don't get success.

Sorry I can't help any further.
