Version R1A

When I receive an incoming call, for the first 12 seconds (sometimes 5 secs) I can hear what I'm saying. Sometimes I hear garbled stuff of my own speech.

Has anyone had this problem? Anyone have any idea what this could be?

cakepanda, I spoke to an SE techie today and he said that it has to do with GSM channels and bad network reception in certain areas.

I upgraded to R1L today so I hope it all goes well from here on.

You can also get echo if the cheap *ss handset on the other side doesn't manage to filter the speaker from the mic correctly.

This problems is normally due to the other handset.

BUT could be a network issue, that can affect ANY phoen with a decent speaker.

When GSM was introduced, the quality was sooo clear without hiss, people use to think that the "other side" was disconnected due to lack of sound. So in the early days, the network woudl sample 10 seconds of the background noise and keep replaying over the conversation, to giv ethe feelign that a call is still connected. I am not sure if European providers still do this, but recently i made a call to a SL mobile on my p800, and i heard this car horn, and a screeching sound being played avery 12 seconds, which was DOWNRIGHT ANOYYNING, but it was part of the background sound on the other side.

This may have somethign to do with that.
