Hey I recently purchased the P800, I'm on o2 and I have a "O2 wap gprs" connection. Thing is.. I can't get on any of the instant messaging programmes any1 suggest why this is a problem?

you probably need to use the "o2 internet gprs" data account to do IM rather than the WAP one.

Correct. All up O2 Data support and ask them to enable the DATA GPRS account on your phone.
Note that you will be charged to use this APN (whereas the wap one is free).

The more I read these threads, the more I feel in the minority using Vodafone charged/metered GPRS *and* WAP!

I wouldn't worry about it for much longer. From what I can remember O2 have plans to axe the free WAP/MMS gprs package and start charging for it. I think that it was originally planned to be an insentive to get people signed up to O2.

I hate WAP and only use it as a neccessity to get themes etc.
I generally use GPRS from my pc or pocketpc to do real internet stuff!
