I have had the Ericsson t18, R320 and R39. Of all these only the T18 charged well. And of all these only the T18 had a different charger. Is it just me or is it a common occurence that the contact points arent that well designed in such a way that a little movement would make it stop charging, and sometimes you have to tilr the charger to make it charge.
I think the design is poor in that the metal parts corrode or that the contact between phone and charger is minimal.
What results is, especially when I text, that it stops charging then charges then stops then charges in a matter of seconds. I feel this screws up ,y battery big time, and makes it useless and suspiciously warranty does not cover battery.
Am I alone in this assessment? Havent seen a thread on this.

I've had quite a few SE handsets and the only one found to be faulty on a widespread scale was the T20. It eventualy broke because it kept charging and disconneting by itself. As for the other models I owned (including the ones you mentioned) I didn't have ANY problems at all. You have to remember to tilt the power connector up when disconnecting it - as per the manual instructions.

I really don't like the SE charger.. It should be like Nokias, round, they sitt much better and you can use the phone without having the cabel twisting and come off the phone.. and the contacts don't wear out as SE's charger contacts...

there is nothing wrong with the way they charge, just that the contacts get dirty an stop working, its a pain having to clean em every 2 weekse, what they should have done is put a plastic clip in with the phone to cover them it would work much better then!

In 18 months of owning T68/T68i/P800 and T610 I have never had to clean the contacts and never had a charging problem so all this is news to me.

But the contacts are bad designed.. I remember having T68i with the mp3 player and the contacts got so bad so that everyi touch to the phone it disconnected the mp3 and conntected it again..
And same goes for tha charging contacts.. When they get well used, the charger wont sit tight in the contact and sometimes I have to touch it a little to have it charge the phone.. Just yester day it happened to my T610
and the phone isn't that old..

Ditto here - T39m for 18 months, T68i for 10 months, now P800...(have I just tempted fate...aarrgghhh!)

you obviously all wrap you phones in cotton wool before u take them out, as i only have T300 it probably doesnt get the respect that some of you P800 users give your phones!, im sure there must be other people on Esato have had the 'dorty contact' problem

P800-users, clearly a better class of mobile user (...here come the flames!!!!)
