I have got some tripod webspace and uploaded a matrix theme unto it..
(pleber1.tripod.com/themes/matrix.thm) but when i go there with the t610 (or indeed the PC) i get "tags.xml"

Is it just tripod not letting me host an unknown file type?

The correct MIME types have to be defined on the WEB server if you want to be able to download directly from the phone

ok, so is there anything i can do? or am i out of luck.

I have a usb data cable for the t610, but no software. Can you recommend any?

If you register on Sony Ericsson fun and downloads site, you will be able to upload (and download) themes and images. Then you can get access to those through WAP.

There is also christersson SendFile program you can try.
Note: You have to have

Mobile Phone Monitor installed on your system for SendFile to work. Mobile Phone Monitor is included on the CD that came with the phone, or can be downloaded here
