go for the Sony network walkman(Nwms70D),takes the MS Duo cards(as used by P800,Z1010 ..)also has 256mb internal mem.(10-11 hours of music using ATRAC3 plus) and the Batt life puts most others to shame(33 hours!!)..its expensive.
if on a budget go for the sony MP3 discman DNE9,comes with software to burn(using your PC)about 500 tracks on a CDR(or CDRW),and batt life is more than 130 hours!!
both rock!
yes ,I am biased

I'm mulling over this myself. Currently I use my Ipaq 5450 with a couple of 256mb SD cards but I am still limited to how much music I can carry and larger SD cards are so really expensive.
So I am looking at a hard drive player such as the iPod...
...with 30gb drive or perhaps something like the
Archos AV300
...with a colour screen

Buy an iRiver iHP-100 or one of the iRiver's "SlimX" series. I just bought a Chromex iMP-150 and I love it (I would have bought a SlimX iMP-550 if I hadn't bought the T610
). It even shows you the lyrics. It is also firmware upgradable. This is one of the best CD players I've ever bought. It plays MP3's, WMA's, CD-DA + there is an OGG software coming.
There is something interesting about it, too. You know most CDP says "Track 1, Track 2,..." on normal CD's... Mine shows the name of the songs when I play my Evanescence CD!!
You should definitely visit
www.iriver.com before buying a CD-P, MP3-P or a Jukebox...
