> Orange UK waiving upgrade fee?

Hello, got currently a t68i on orange, my contract runs out later this month and wish to keep my old number and upgrade but the thing is my monthly spend is
was wondering how often do orange waive their upgrade fee for existing customers? r they easy to talk to, to waive the fee?

You wont have to pay any upgrade fee if you are out of your 12 month contract only the retail price of the handset regardless of monthly spend.
ring the upgrades team when your contract is finished and it will only be the £80 for the t610.
also if you get no joy say your going to go to another network for a free t610 if they dont waive the fee, but unless they have changed the upgrade system since i left you shouldent have an upgrade fee.

According to Orange, free upgrade is after 18 months on any monthly spend. If monthly spend is >30, upgrade is free after 12 months. If it's really high, like 70 per month, you can upgrade after 9 months.

If i was you i'd just ring em up yourself cus they(Orange CS)will all give a different story,but theres no point ringing till the date of your contract is up,you wont get a straight answer from them until then,trust me,i've been asking the same questions for the past 3 months now

He may be right but why 18 months? Surely the contract tie in is 12 months long so why 18 for an upgrade (I guess this is a clause of contract)? Why do networks seem to always penalise customers who try an stay loyal to them. Grrrr. We should be given the same deal as new customers. We are both being tied into a new 12 month contract after all.
I upgraded a couple of weeks ago as a low monthly user, no fee, but thinking about it I must have been very close to the 18 months anyway.

I just got the same response,£130 with the upgrade,well theres gotta be a first for everything and im still on the Everyday 50 but now im really pissed off with Orange,they dont care about us unless ur a new customer. Gona start looking at other networks,and thats a first too!

@Batch_2002 - 18months give orange plenty of time to claw back the subsidy on phone if you are a low spender. Its not good business sense to give a free or cheap phone 2 some1 spending £20 a month. Boyi u will get a cheaper phone, but i doubt free, unless u r a very high spender. U know what to do.
