Can i ask whether I.R or BT adapters are more reliable in transferring data from phone to/from pc?
or which is better or worst for any other reason (other than having to place the phone in the i.r panels line of sight).

Ir is easier to set up and get it to work, found in more phones, but slower

BT is faster, farther range, but maybe tricky to set up, can be used to hook up with headsets...

As far as reliability is concerned the is not much difference, but BlueTooth appears to be a little more stable, not to mention faster. The problem with IR is that you have to line up the devices just right or you loose connection periodically.

Just a generic IRDA adaptor will do. You might want to take a look at http://www.expansys.com/

Whats wrong with the one I suggested from the ebay. Its cheap and I have had success and they have a great rating. What more good reference do you need? I would not recommend them if I did not thing you would have zero problems with them. Its up to you but you'll only pay more elsewhere.
