> "pre-ring" on T610 ?

I guess all T610 owners have noticed than before the beginning of the ring, the vibrator starts first and then 2 or 3 tones can be heard before the "real" ring starts...
It doesn't bother me at all, but I'm very curious about one thing...
What is the reason for this "pre-ring"???
Any idea???

The reason is that because the T610 has only one speaker for both rings and listening, people could suffer ear-damage. If they hold the phone to their ear and it suddenly rings (at maximum volume), all the sound would be directed directly into the ear => not good (for then people would begin seuing SE
Thus they have made it so that you first receive a warning signal by means of beeping (cannot be switched off, the vibrating function is optional).

I have the same thing on my T310. I would guess that it needs a few secounds to load the (polyphonic?) ringtones. Have you tried with a "normal" ringtone?

Nervertheless, the volume of the phone ring is increasing anyway due to the reason you mentionned... I knew this but it still doesn't explain this "pre-ring" (tones before the start of the "increasing" ring).

That is what I meant by warning signal (the three beeps), the increasing ring there for the same reason (they should have left it at three beeps instead of beeps and increasing volume, perhaps it will be changed with newer firmware).
