> very dissapointed with t610

I went to tmobile today and checked out the t610 (its reletively new in the states) and i was very dissapointed. The screen was very dim. the menus are still reletively slow. The camera had a slow seek time although better than mca-20. One thing i was surprised was the size. I thought it would be bigger. overall i'm definately dissapointed and i'm going to wait for a better sony ericsson to come out.

i admit the camera cud have done with improvement, but it still isn't bad.
i'm very pleased with the phone.

I was playing with a SharpGX10 yesterday and it seems to put the T610 screen to shame with respect to brightness. Not that I mind the T610 screen at all. I have noticed no slowness with the menus. I'd rather wait and extra 2 seconds having the menus load than having to scroll through them all like you do on a Nokia. Also, it is a phone. I don't think a camera is that much of a big deal. The T610 camera serves its purpose and that's good enough for me:)

I have to agree with N.M.E. that the GX10 screen is fantastic. Vodafone sent me one to play with just before Christmas and I was blown away by that screen. Just a shame it was a vodafone live phone locked and branded as my son really wanted to keep it but I convinced him to get the T300 instead and fortunately he's happy with that.

What!? The T610 is the fastest camera I've ever seen on a phone. Nothing comes close to the speed at which it refreshes.
Yes, the GX10(i) has a great screen, but how much power does it need!? You need to charge the phone every day, unless you keep it off between making calls.

Well, the camera is sort of slow after you take a picture, + it can take several seconds to discard the pictures as well. However the view finder is very fast.

One thing that is hardly ever mentioned when it comes to comparing screen quality is the relation to standby-time. Sure, the t610 is a bit dimmer that some other phones, but all of these phones have TFT screens that apparently consumes a lot of more battery power. Hence, the standby-time is usually around 100-150 hours whereas the t610 has a STN screen that is not as bright as TFT but gives the phone a standby-time around 350 hours. Personally I think this is extremely important and I think SE has made the right decision until TFTs can be made less power hungry.
