So far as I am aware you will need a full GPRS connection to use opera. Either that or a dial up connection.

Contact your service provider for the correct GPRS settings.

I seem to have the same problem with Coco. I am able to surf the web using Opera when I am connected to the docking station.

However, when I tried using Opera on GPRS, WAP or dial-up, it simply doesn't work. Apparently, I can only connect using the built-in web browser from SE without any problems, but not when I am connected to the docking station.......

Does anyone encounter the same problem as well. I tot this problem will go away when I upgraded to R2F, but the same problems still persist !

If you have set up the dial up account properly there should be no problem connecting to the internet using opera. Make sure you have fully set up your dial up account with username, dial up number etc. Change the prefferred connection settings to the dial up account. Make sure that your service provider allows you full access to the internet using GPRS.

I too had the same problem. You need to setup an Internet GPRS account as well as a WAP GPRS account. It would be nice to use opera with a WAP account, certainly save me a few pennies.

@abou coco: call your operator's help desk, they will be very happy to supply you with all the needed information in order to properly set up your phone internet account.

Most of the operators have an automatic configurator, either you activated from the web or the help desk operator will send you an "auto Setup" SMS. Just click yes when asked after recieving the SMS.

Cheers /CD

there is no option for me to set my opera browser connection settings. I seem to be able to get opera to connect but when i try to open a wap or web page it just sits on '1k' of prgress and a blank screen.

Whats the big deal in using opera over wap ???

All you need to do is set up a wap account with your service provider (this can nowadays be done via their website and they send you a text message with the settings attached - you save the settings)

Then open opera -
goto web-open web page- enter the site u want to goto-when prompted choose your wap account NOT GPRS- and connect it will then goto the website without any problems !!!

it works fine for me i have even downloaded an mp4 which was 2.5MB it took around 45 mins nut my wap was free and there were noextra charges from o2 !!!!!!!!!
