Have you been under a rock for the past year? My roommate has had the sidekick for at least 9 months now. This is not a new product. The color version is somewhat new but its still the same product.

Erm yeah.... sidekick's been around for quite some time.... but not in NL for sure, maybe not in Europe at all. Anyway... sidekick is far from new and I haven't really heard any enthusiastic reports by anybody who's owned the thing......

He seems to like it quite a bit but I think mostly due to the plan (unlimited internet which at the time was exclusive to that phone for such a low price) and the QWERTY keypad which he now finds to be a requirement. He uses it for all his email and barely even uses his computer anymore. The interface is pretty slick and well laid out but there are a few problems associated with customizability (which is next to nothing) and stability (his phone crashed quite a few times and hes already gotten 2 replacements).
Additionally there were a few issues with the phone that just seemed like obvious omissions. Cant remember any specifics but there were just several obvious features that should have been included that werent.
I know that overall though he was pretty happy with it. They update the OS all the time over the network so thats cool, and they're always updating little quirks that people dont like (for example, if it were the P800 they would update the OS to allow SMS notifications ON as default). The phone backs itself up over the network constantly, so if your phone crashes or whatever you dont lose anything.
Physically the phone is quite large but its just a matter of taste. With a big screen and a QWERTY keypad what do you expect, I guess. So thats pretty much it.
