i noticed that most of the people in here turn off their phones when they sleep.. i wonder why? and just out of the blue, is that good for the phone in any way? i mean like, maybe someone wants to contact u in URGENT!! and u're phone is off, what can he do!? u expect him to come wake u up?

Huh, ........ they want privacy while asleep? it also saves on battery life than when it's on standby.

I rarely turn my phone off though it is on silent overnight but at least I can see if someone has tried to call and maybe even their phone number.

My P800 is on all the time unless I need to charge it and I am at home. I use my P800 as an alarm therefore it is always on at night.

I don't know about P800, but practically every phone I have ever owned could turn itself on to sound the alarm. The T610 can even turn itself on to sound the calendar reminders.

unfortunately, when I had a P800 it could not do that, unless that is a feature they have added to the firmware since I got rid of my P800 a 3 months ago.

The normal practice if you did not want to be disturbed by calls in your sleep was to put it into flight mode.

@wrath000

I don't own a T610 so cannot comment on its features. My Niokia 6310i will also awake to sound an alarm.

I have noticed that many convergent devices tend to lack features of specialised devices. For example, I have a Clie NR70 (Palm OS 4.1 device) and I've never seen a web browser for this as good as the monochrome Psion 5mx with Opera, which was available as far back as 2001! The Psion machines and the Epoc / Symbian s/w were designed with connectivity as a key feature, unlike Palm as far I can tell.

I noticed that if you turn your phone on and off , it would drain more battery than if you leave it on at night !!
