Hi

I'm trying to upgrade my v2.4 CK3000 to v3.10 via a cable from Mobiland.

The software downloads the version okay, I start the upgrade from a laptop in the car and the programme tells me to plug in power cable then the blue transfer bar just keeps going up and down continuously at speed!!!! Is this normal??? How long should the flashing take???

Thanks

Marc

Marcs, I mentioned in the other post also. I'm quite sure u're using a laptop w/o a proper serial port, usign a usb-serial convertor. It wotn work with it.. (well, in some rare cases it does), but.. get a laptop with a REAL serial port with 9 pins.. or take ur kit to ur desktop (it has a much higher chance of having a com port). Also, see my post on the Driveblue forum Sub: CK3000 Upgrade - IT WORKS, its on page 2 now.
Flashing should take less than 2 minutes once u've connected the power cable.

Cheers Riz,

I read your posts on DriveBlue too. I'm gonna try the resetting 'Two Button Press' thing again tonight. One question on that though. Once the ignition is turned on do you need to continue holding the buttons until the woman stops saying "Memory Erasing Please Wait"? I ask this because I tried doing it last night and she just kept saying it over and over for about 5 minutes while I was holding the buttons down!!! I noticed as I let go of them she said "Pair Device". Does that signify that it's been reset??

Thanks again Riz

Marcs, Have you managed to upgrade the kit?. If u have, then your memory is cleared in anycase, why would you want to clear it again?. I had the same problem as you when I first tried to upgrade the kit usign an usb-serial cable. The progress indicator kept going from 0 to 100 repeatedly. I stopped after 2-3 mintues. Put the kit back in, tried to pair, the phone found the kit, albeit at still the old firmware version, and the woman kept saying "Memory Erasing in progress - Please wait". Won't shut up. I disc. the kit after five minutes, called the Parrot hotline, and they asked me to send the black box back and they sent me a replacement. It could be the usb-serial cable corrupted the firmware in the kit. If U were usign a similar cable, try flashing with a pc with a real port.

Normally, when all things are working, you should keep the 2 buttons pressed and switch on the ignition. The kit will say MEmory erasing in progress. Then u can release the buttons.

I am using a real port from a laptop.

The reason I'm gonna try that two button thing is that on Driveblue another guy did it then upgraded and it worked! Worth a try I guess.

How long did it take for Parrot to send you a new black box?

Marcs: After the upgrade, when you pair the phone and the kit, which s/ware version does it show?. When the 0-100 problem happened with ,me, the firmware had not been upgraded as on pairing, the phone still showed CK3000 v3.00. The guy who had the Memory full problem on the Driveblus forum had actuall managed to upgrade to the new firmware. Is that the case with you?.

About the replacement, Parrot were actually quite nice about it. They sent me a replacement black box even w/o receiving my faultly one. It was here in 3 days, and I'm in the UAE, I guess Paris to England could be even quicker.

Another option is, if u bought your kit from Mobiland, talk to Ken (remember him?). Tell him wots gone wrong and ask for a replacement. He'll probably ask that you send ur box first, in that case, ask him to block the cost of a ck3000 box on your credit, releasing it once they've received yours.

I've tried both ways and it worked. Also, as a consequence, I've got two black boxes now. When my box had gone faulty, I requested Parrot AND talked to Mobiland. Parrot had agreed to send me the box w/o any deposit, while mobiland took the charge on my credit card. Once I got both the kits, I decided to keep both for future faults (I know.. I'm stupid, when I look back, I dotn know WHY t.f I did it!!).

But, once I got my mains to cigarette lighter adaptor, I set up my spare box on my computer table, next to the TV, mic on the pc monitor. Now I can do true handsfree even at home .

Thanks for all the really useful info Riz!

Just been trying to upgrade again with no luck.............However............

I've just paired my T610 with the kit and it says v2.40 but the functions seem to be working!!! Parrot Menu, Voice Reco etc etc!!

I notice the only thing different is that when the phone is connecting to the number requested there aren't any regular beeps that occur before the number is connected to a ringing tone.......Apart from that there's no difference! Weird!

I'm gonna mail Parrot anyway to get a new one!

Cheers for all your help Riz.......You're a star mate!!!!!!

Now U got me confused dude. If all the functions are working, why u sending your kit back ??

When the "Memory Erasing in Progress" loop happened with me, I borrwed all kinda laptos from anyone who'd let me to try to reflash the kit, with no success. In the end, nothing could be done and I had to send it back to Parrot.

Sorry to confuse you.

I'm pretty happy with it I guess! It still seems to be v2.40 but it does work with the T610 just not exactly the same as before with my T68i.

The only obvious difference is that the beeps that proceed the call connecting don't happen.

I think I'll call it quits and use it as is. There doesn't seem to be any issues so far, I just think the diferences between the T68i functionality and T610 were worrying me!!!!!!!

Thanks for all your useful help Riz,

Nice one

Good if its working, but with my T610/Ck3000 v3.10 combo, the tones precede before a call connects to a number. In any case, it appears you can't upgrade the firmware properly. What if Parrot releases a new version, or, you change phones after sometime and it'll only work with a new firmware?. Take it further, what if all this happens after your one year warranty period has run out?.

If I were you, I'd send it right back while its still new and u;re not used to having it in your car. Trust me, after a week, you wudnt want to drive without it.
