> Thumb print Recognition
Bookmark topic
I have searched for any topics regarding this and came up with zilch.
Would this be possible, to create an app that recognises your thumbprint and in turn locks/unlocks the p800??
I think this would be fantastic but then arent all dreams??

It would probably require external hardware since I doubt the screen is either sensitive enough or has the resolution required.
My ipaq has finger print recognition but I never use it except to play with. I certainly wouldn't place my whole security faith on this technology yet!

In order to read a thumbprint you would need something like this
http://www.eyenetwatch.com/
the P800 has a touch sensitive screen, not a biometric scanner!

The ipaq 5450 that I have has a special scanner which you run your finger over. You can see it in the pic on
this page as the horizontal slit under the joypad. Aparantly it measures the differences in heat emission between the grooves of the fingerprint.

You think not?....you think wrong! The Ipaq 5450 has a built-in biometric scanner.

Hi,
I don't think this is possible, because the P800 can only detect you pressing at one point on the screen. Please feel free to prove me wrong if I'm wrong.
Best regards,
