Assume that I'm not using T9 input. Assume that I want to write the word "Hi". What I do is to press 4 two times, and the "H" will appear. Now, I wait until it times out and press 4 three times, arriving to "i"... That timeout process is taking forever! Is there a way to accept the selected character instead of waiting for it to timeout?
I've always used Nokia, so I'm not quite used to Ericsson inputs. Couldn't find any answers to this question elsewhere. Thanks for your time.

Yeah, so far, I've moved the joystick to the right, and then back to left. This is indeed faster than waiting to it to timeout, but when doing this, it also adds a space in your SMS. Not that it's a big deal, but there got to be a faster way to do this? When I had a Nokia phone, I could write SMS much faster! On Ericsson, not only the software is slow. Even the way of inputting isn't as efficient!

Press down.
It works with T65, and should do so as well with T68 i think.

Instead of using the joystick press the volume button on the side of the phone down. I think its much better(and faster) than the joystick

I agree. Texting is just better with a Nokia. I've been a nokia user for 7 years i think, and texting is definitely easier. Dont get me wrong, I love my T39, I think it's my best phone ever. I just miss how my nokia's T9 knew when i wanted to put an apostrophe. It also knew that I wanted to capitalize just the first letter. I hate how the the ericsson is still writing the text even though I'm done. Texting with it is just TOO SLOW.
whew. thanks for letting me let that out.
I love my T39 (the T65 that looks better)

I usually press any other letter and then "C" to delete it and go back, and then press the next letter you want....

Just thought I'd point out in text input mode if you slide the volume button up and hold then press a key you automatically get the second letter on the key and if you slide it down and hold then press a key you get the third letter of the key, this might help if not exactly answering your question!
