I know, I know, I know - I could go look this up in the manuals. However, I've yet to see (and no doubt if I'm wrong about this, someone will correct me!) any posts on the topic of SMS 'chat messages' in this forum.
I replied to my wife's SMS message this evening, from my P800 using a load of smilie icons. Bless her, she had her T68i floating around the depths of her handbag, so it was only when I fished it out this evening did I see I had '...started a chat message. Do you wish to continue?'.
What's that all about then? What is a chat message? Is it like an IM client via SMS? If so, how much is likely to cost?

the chat feature just sends one text message for everything each person says. its just a way of making it easier to understand a convo, if 2 people are texting each other a lot.
the phone would put each text message recieved and sent into one window, and tart it up a bit.. add names in front of the messages etc, so it does appear you are chatting.
p800 doesnt appear to have the feature though.

That's what threw me - my P800 initiated it (all Idid was send a line of smilies, followed by some text...
I'll experiment with the T68i inititating a 'chat' to my P800, and see how the latter responds...
All in all, and not having a text bundle, sounds like an expensive way to communicate!
