Sounds like they put that claus in the manual to stop people demanding a new battery if theirs died after 7 months, BUT i think in UK consumer law you are entitled to a replacement one if a battery becomes faulty within an unreasonabley short period of time, so this is wide open, because it sounds like Siemens are saying the battery is only good for 7 months which is a bit short if you ask me, BUT the question is.....WHAT WAS WRONG WITH YOUR OLD ONE ?
I it wasn't holding a charge or wasn't lasting longer than 1 day then fine but it sounds to me that you threw away a good battery.
Have the Garbage men been yet ?
(not the garbadge "thread" men
)

The gargabe thread men prolly on theri way in a range rover now...
(didn't u say you were scottish Miss UK?
)
Anyway.... no matter what the manual says.... i usually use the battery until it start giving me trouble and only then replace it. I would think a decent battery would last lots and lots longer than 7 months!
Shame you threw it away already.... don't be so quick next time

Was in Bumbartonshire myself thye other day, keep your old battery, get your shop to test it as it could just be dirty contacts. pattern batteries can be poor quallity.

If its Nickel Cadmium, let the battery run down to empty once a week, then fully recharge as the batt will last longer.
Ive got a decrepid Nokia 5110, original battery still in place and that still works flawlessly.
