OK, i just bought a T310 [in middle east]. The thing is, with all T310's is the "predefined" items. I also bought the DCU-11 data cable [and MCA-25 camera] and have it working on my PC [minus the software].
What im looking for is how to remove the predefined items. Sony Ericsson told me there are third-party software available that will remove them but i cant find any. Links and names would be very helpful

If you are unable to delete the predefined items with the 'c' key because you get the message 'predefined item cannot be deleted' then no 3rd party software will do that either.
Some people say the 13 second trick can do it for you but I don't recommend doing that but do a search on that if you want more info.

Why don't you recommend it, masseur? It worked fine on my T300!

Searching throught the forums ive found a lot of stuff saying that it cant be done. Ill throw up the bit of the email i recieved back from Sony Ericisson about it:
Regarding your enquiry, on most handsets the pre-installed items cannot be deleted using the handset. There has been independent software produced for the PC that can be used to remove these items, but we cannot recommend a particular piece of software. If you were to use an Internet search engine it is likely that you will find the appropriate software
There must be some working third-party software out there as sony wouldnt mention anythign about them if there wasent. Well, i hope there is a way. In the T310 i gots about 30 images i dont want and a rake of useless ringtones, all of arabic music seeing as though i bought the phone here in the gulf

Well I just don't feel that interrupting a master reset can be a good thing. I know people have success but its just the principal of it. Also I happened to be speaking to an SE techo (not a frontline customer support person in whom I have no faith) the other day and he was of the same opinion because, as he said, he knows the operations going on during master reset... Unfortunately he would not elaborate and explain it all to me!
Originally I was worried about the effect of removing the battery during the intensive operation of master reset but he said that is not a problem and indeed on the T610 removing the battery while the unit is ON is actually a soft reset. You can see that when you put the battery back in and turn on. You get an hourglass for quite a few seconds as the phone re initialises itself.
At the end of the day if people ask this question about predefined items, since I have not done it myself and probably will not, I just mention the 13 second trick and suggest they search for other peoples comments and decide for themselves.

I would be prepared to try this 13sec trick.
Seeing as though i bought the phone by itself [not like the network edited models you get back home in Ireland] i have a warrenty and the like, so if I do feck it up i can just go back to SE and say nothing happened.
I am on the newist T310 firmware as i do have calender etc. I was sure there must be some software around that will do it. Once i am back in Ireland i will be looiking a lot further into this as i will have a bit more time.
If not ill go hard onto Sony about there advertising the phone with 850kb memory when you can only access like 250kb of that.Though i dont want to.
On another note, im finding this battery odd. I charged it yesterday, full charge and took it off it at 3pm. Its now 11am and its already down to 1/2 batery. Havent made any calls on it [no network here], all ive done is taken a few photos [3 or 4 maybe] with the camera and looked through the phone book a few times for numbers but that was all. Im not too sure about it.

I have done the 13sec trick. It hasn't cause any problem to my T310.
When I buy a new PC, I am alwys re-install it from scratch. Like this, I know exactly what it is installed on it. It is the same with my T310!
I would recommand it. I get 676 K free after it !
Is there someone in the esato forum who had trouble with the 13sec trick ? Don't think so !

@oli: I get 620 kb free without doing the 13 sec trick. Just don't let all the thumbnails in the my pictures folder load.
