I need a bit of help.
I have all but given up on my T610 - I am on my third one which is now faulty (does not ring, locks up after incoming calls). Each one I have driven miles to get flashed and then had to return. Orange refuse (or are unable) to get me a recent one with recent firmware.
I have been looking for alternatives. I know this is probably a hanging offence here but - can anyone recommend a good alternative with similiar features.
The camera is not important but BT, GPRS, WAP, Email and a decent colour screen are. JAVA is quite important but not vital.

3650 if you don't mind the size, i LOVE mine. only good nokia out there i swear. or go all out and get a p800, but again, its big.
if you want something small, s55 is good, but the screen isn't.

try the S55 uo'll be amazed wot u can do with it despite the display only having 256 colours am happy with mine :)

thats gonna hurt goin from 65k to 256 colors. i had a play with a frends t300 after owning my t610 for a week and abit and the color is shite i can deal with the nokia colors cos there like 4k colors so not to bad

My S55 has been operating flawlessly for the last 8+ months...the fact of being able to selfupgrade is a definitive plus, went from version 4 to 16 with no prob whatsoever...the sound quality is really great, reception good too....mine was first connected to PC with the supplied cable and now via bluetooth...
I highly recommend this phone...
still debating between keeping my S55 or upgrading to T610...

Well, I admit to being biased as i own both phones..
The Siemens is _really_ good value for money, at least here in Sweden.
Currently they go for about the same price as t310 - which it IMO whups hands down..
Except for color depth it really has all youŽll ever need, and the java implementation is better than the t610 as you can use MobICQ and other socks dependent apps.
It also has a better filesystem in that you can erase and manipulate EVERYTHING you put in it and everything it comes with. Good for us punters, bad for the Games companies
