So is it possible? Obviously not free, but is there any decent ISP's offering a fixed monthy fee for unlimited mobile Internet surfing?
I'm with Tiscali and i've been very happy with them on the ISDN i have (cant get anything faster in my area) and never had a line drop, been the best £14 a month i've spent! But now i've got used to carefree surfing so i'd like a bit more of the same on my phone! Wap is just too restrictive on the sites i visit (lots of the mini sites i visit are multiple framed)!

Yes of course it's possible, GPRS-flatrate has been around here in Finland for a year or so now, unfortunately now the 'free' download limit has been set to 100MB, after that they start charging you per megabyte. But it's still not a bad deal, people who live outside the range for xDSL or ISDN use it as their primary internet access.

Fido (in Canada) offers unlimited GPRS for $50/month. I suppose if there's no alternative other than dialup, it may be worthwhile, however the speed isn't even close to the lowest-speed broadband.
I tried it for 2 months, but just didn't get enough use out of it. I've got highspeed DSL at home and multiple T1s at work, so it's just not an issue for me.
I subscribed to a plan that gives me 5mb/month of data xfer, which is probably enough for me.
