Hey all, as a long time lurker as these forums Id first like to say hi and thanks for solving many of my problems before..

Got a Bluetooth USB Adapter today, Installed and set it up.. No probs.
I sync my phones contacts to my Outlook Address book.. No probs... BUT, when I go into the Outlook Address book and double click a contact (a new one I just transferred) to view the phone number I get an alert pop up box saying

"The properties dialog box could not be displayed. An invalid ENTRYID was passed in"

Hence: No number..

My phone is due for a firmware upgrade and am too scared to take it in until Ive backed up all my contacts..

Can anyone help?

Can't help with the error but can reassure you that upgrading from R1A to R1L will not affect your contacts.

My previous phone was a P800.. When I took that to get a firmware upgrade it came back with nothing on it.. Luckily I had backed up before it.

The guy said this was common practice.. Is it different with a T610 or was he just full of it?

Hi, I'm new to this forum, but I have been working within the mobile phone industry for a year now. The thing to remember about taking any phone in for a firmware upgrade is that there is always a risk of losing everything on the phone as the software is upgraded meaning the phone will be like "new". Whether specific upgrades will not lose contacts is a risk that is not worth taking, especially if you have something like 250+ contacts.

Try using the Sony Ericsson software that came with the phone to synchronise contacts but if that doesn't work, try downloading synchronisation software. This should not affect the bluetooth device in any way as it uses it's own driver. It wouldn't make a difference if you used different software to synchronise contacts and calendar notes.

I personally use software that came with the bluetooth device that synchronises everything together. Worst comes to worst, take it back.

Zak248313, yes, my old P800 also got cleared when I upgraded the firmware but you can believe me when I say that it didn't happen with my T610.

Mass: With 200 contacts you can understand me not wanting to risk it either way.
