I know the T610 boasts an incredible amount of colours but the human eye can't even process 65,000 colours.
I compared my T610 colour screen with my brothers P800 with the same picture and the difference was marginal. In fact the T610 competes with the P800. I'd say the P800 is ever so slightly sharper.
My point is the P800 only has 4096 colours yet it is on a par with the 65,000 colours available on my T610 when viewing pictures.
Does anyone know the bit rate for the colours on the T610 , as I think the P800 is 16 bit 4,096 colours.
Ppl keep boasting about the number of colours available on the screen yet it doesn't matter if:
a. You can't process the amount of colours and
b. The screen on the phone is shit in the first place.
The picture quality on the Nokia 3650 also is very good considering that too only has 4096 colours.

4096 colours is 12 bit, ie 2 to the power of 12. Using the same principle, 65536 colours is 16 bit.

I feel pixel size also matters. In P800 Pixel size is smaller. So image appears sharper.

Actually, I think humans are capable of resolving about 16 million combinations of red, green and blue light - i.e. approximately 24 bit, so even the T610's screen doesn't reach the limit of the human eye.
To see what I mean, compare a large colour gradient on a PC screen in 16-bit with 24(or 32)-bit colour modes (you'll probably need an old-skool CRT monitor for this, not a TFT)... You'll probably notice the 16-bit mode has colour 'banding'.
Colour depth has nothing really to do with the clarity of an image, but it may result in gradients being smoother, and photos closer to the real life subject. However, other factors may affect the T610 screen's performance. As suggested, the pixel size on the P800 may be smaller, giving a clearer image...

T610 has all the bells and whistles in terms of technology. But i have to think that they still use STN screen in order to save battery power. Did you guys notice that the lcd viewing angle on t610 is actually worse than t68i? Weird don't you think?

I've heard that the human eye can see the difference on about 4 million colours, but it varies a little between different persons. As someone already said you ago easily see the difference between 16bit and 24bit colour depth on a computer. If you view an image with lots of similar colour you'll notice a huge difference between the 4096 colours and the T610 screen.

you say the human eye can't process that many colors? (my monitor is at 32bit by the way, but that's besides the point) just put the t610 up to a t68, which has only 256 colors and you will see the difference. my t616's display puts my friends t720 and 3560 to shame.
