> multiple language T9's?

is it possible to have more than one T9 dictionary in the phone? for example, can you have both english and german T9, and choose which one you want to use for each message? if this is possible, how many is it possible to have? what about the menu languages, how many of those can you have? thanks in advance...

Settings -> Language -> T9 Input
mark those languages (with either a joystick press, or by pressing *) you want to be able to choose between when using T9.
When writing sms you can switch by either pressing down * or by enter the menu and select "Input Language"
this is if you have the T68

In which phone? In the latest ericsson models you can choose more than one T9 language and when you're on the writing state you can choose which language you want to use. The menu language you have to change in the settings... there's no other way.

actually, i only have one option (english) under the T9 menu, but i'm going to get the software for my phone updated in a couple of days, so i wanted to know if i can add extra languages (for T9, but also for menus) when i do this. but i understand from your answers that this indeed seems to be possible. thanks!
does anyone happen to know how many T9 languages you can have? what's the most number of languages anyone here has under their T9 menu???

what languages you can have in the menus depend on which language version you have, there are quite many, just here in Europe there is at least five different depending on where in Europe you live. You can't choose which languages you want to have as T9, those you get in the software is those you have to choose between.

not quite sure i understand... let's say, i don't care too much about the menus, cuz i'll always leave those in english anyways. but i want to have, say, english and french as options for T9, and my girlfriend wants english and german on her phone. are these combinations possible?

probably yes.... I think german and french are optional T9 languages in almost every software version. Normally you can choose between 4 different languages for the menu, but for T9 you have more languages to choose between. English is always an option, I'm not quite sure though how it is with german and french, they are at least available as T9 in every European software version, but I don't know how it is with the non-European versions.

My norwegian version of R2B013 has got these options. Norwegian, Swedish, Soumi, and English. Both menu-language and T9 language has the same options. No German or French...

sure, but you might have to pay for it... changing between the language versions doesn't count as a warranty update....
