I went to a m8's yesterday, we both own a T610, both purchased from same place.

I noticed that my screen is darker than his (contrast set the same) and my keypad backlit colour is more of a blue, whereas his is more of a sea green.

Just curious as to weather SE made different versions of the T610 ?

If they did - it was not intentionally done or marketed as such.

Someone else posted very similar observations here recently. SE do change the hardware from time to time so compare the hardware versions (just out of interest).

Yeah I posted a topic up a while ago commenting that my backlit light for the keypad was different to my boyfriends. Also his buttons click a lot more, whereas mine are smoother when you push them.

How do we find out the hardware version ?
I got mine about 2-3weeks after my m8's, and mine had just been shipped in.

Its on the label under the battery mid way one the first line. It will be something like R3A, R3B or if you are lucky R4A or B or something similar.

Its also on the label on the box.

I realized this with my t68i and his friends t68i long ago. The difference was the keypad, made more of a click sound and the screen also seemed brighter, and didn't have such a bad STN effect in the sunlight like mine did.

Then another friend got the t68i, and hers was the same as my friend. New keypad which had a harder feel and the better screen.

So I think yes, from time to time Sony Ericsson will change the distributer, or change parts as any other company would do to overcome supply issues, or price.
