Has anyone got a complete (or large) listing of UK cell ID's & their locations in .csv (or whatever format) for import to MiniGPS?

Failing that, I'd be happy to start one. If anyone wants to export the cell id's that they've named from their minigps I'll merge all the files I receive at spamhere@gmx.co.uk (it's a real address, just one I use for trapping spam) and post the merged file up here from time to time - say once a week. Please zip your files as I'm stuck with a modem until BT get their arses into gear.

Cheers,
Alex

Won't MiniGPS collect the names automatically from Voda/O2 networks, think they have cell info available IIRC? My Orange connection doesn't appear to have cell names.

If you can teach me how to use minigps, i'd be happy to help. Any instruction availble anywhere. I have tried working it out, but need help i think.

Give each cell you go to a name by going to menu miniGPS->add_current_cell. Export them by going to the 'cells' tab, ticking the ones you want and choosing menu miniGPS->Send.

I can't find a website either, but here are a couple in the B'ham area, note, I only downloaded this 2 hours ago

Cell ID: 8957
Area, Rotton Park, Edgbaston, Birmingham

Cell ID: 3711
I have this to the same area, but won't get a more accurate knowledge of it until I go out tomorrow as my house is kinda, between cells.
