I'm trying to make some wav ringtones and was wondering what you people have found to be the best settings for the wavs, ie: obviously mono because theres only 1 speaker. I'm looking for a smallish filesize and to make it quite loud so you can hear them.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

cheers

even better, record at 16bit, 22khz MONO, and save as IMA ADPCM. it gives just the right balence between tonal quality and file size.. 25 sec ringtone = 300kb

I use IMA ADPCM too but I found that the difference between 22kHz and 44kHz is quite noticeable. alright ... the file size is doubled of course.
