For those access points where the gateway IP is a public IP, I suppose you can create a UDP proxy yourself and have it available in the Internet, then change the phone's gateway IP to point to your UDP proxy. Your UDP proxy will then simply forward the UDP packets to the operator's real gateway ( assuming it has a public IP, which in some cases are true ).

Has anyone done this kind of thing and see that it works ?
Basically, what I wanted to do is snoop the UDP packets sent to my phone, and figure out why the same MMS PDUs work on a Nokia, but not an the Ericsson .. by comparing the PDUs.

And about the gateways - it is dependant on your provider and the WAP configuration of your operator.

Here in bulgaria, with M-Tel GSM operator it doesn't matter what WAP Gateway address I put, the opreator works as if I've specified their gateway ;-( So you may not be able to change WAP Gateway IP address.
