Hi All,

I've removed all software traces of Vodafone from my R1A T610 - firmware, gdfs etc. It still, however has the vodafone logo on the case which I cannot seem to easly scratch off. If I take this phone in to a service center to get it upgraded to R1L what's gonna happen? Can I get it upgraded anywhere without getting the vodacrap back? Can I upgrade it myself?

Cheers,
JohnO

Some people in these forums have mentioned that when they upgraded their de-voda phones in the service center, they got upgraded with a vodaphone version. Do a search, those threads will come up

I have a clean from Vodafone T610 done in Spain, perfect working, and with R1L, is a total diferent and better mobile, as to take away logos donīt be afraid in trying this I did myself. use a little one cent euro coin and scratch the logos back and front, they will go of easely and without marks on finish, due to very heavy resistance on aluminium of the T610,you can take little red marks with 90% alcohol por last touch, my mobile now looks great.

Just use ur finger nails.... they don't need to be long, start from the corner and work ur way in. I found the back case to be alittle more time consuming... however it all comes off in the end. After that.. grab a sponge cloth from the kitchen and abit of Ajax... bingo no marks left whatsoever...

Trust me.... mine looks perfect!!

Btw... i am going to get my phone flashed when i get back to Sydney...

Hopefully they won't be able to tell the difference.

I shall keep u posted... oh and please let me know how u go with the logo removal.

Cheers...

Here is a thread where some people claim that the phone will be flashed back to vodaphone version, and that a vodafone phone is identified by the IMEI number.

i dont belive the phone is idenitifed by the imei. i got my vodafone t610 flashed by a autho'd serivce center to non voda R1L. Now if the restrictions to the emma server where based on imei then mine should not have worked.
