how do the commercially available screen protectors work? and wat are they made of? (wat common household item is it similiar to in texture, thikness etc) do they fit exactly or is there a gap around edges. also, how does it stay on?
thanks

i'm askin these questions (sory) cause in australia there isnt much going for them yet and i dont wanna pay an extortionate amount for postage from uk or something...
i'm thinking of using clear contact (sticky backing, like you put on books) concerned about stiky stuff damagin screen or something tho. the good thing i see about this stuff is if i want i could filter the screen using diff colours (heh, that would be amusing) and i could use a piece slightly bigger than the screen itself which would (hopefully) 'seal' the lcd to some degree and protect against dust and stuff...

wat u peepz think? thanks for any feedbak too

I also live in australia, half of the year.

in march I bought a Belkin PDA screen overlays compatible with PALM m125.

I cut it to size, works great! you get 12 in a pack, I am still using the same one since march!

I bought it at mayers!

please dont use contact! I dont want to see you take it off! I think contact would be 5X as sticker!

Don't do it - I live in Uk and had a Martin Fields one send in less than a week. Compared to how valuble your P800 is the screen savercost is minimal.

I bought the Martin Fields protector from p800er.com. Works great, doesn't affect screen brightness. Only thing there is added resistance when pressing the keys while the flip is closed but it isn't a problem in any way. I had the screen changed twice so the protector is a much cheaper alternative whichever way you look at it.

I'm in the UK and orderd a Brando one from Singapore (I think) - it came in 4 days.

It dulls the screen a little, but not much, and requires slightly increased pressure on the stylus, but apart from that, I'd absolutely recommend it without any hesitation!

I picked up a brando screen protector and have had no troubles. I don't use the flip so it's definitely worth while.

In Oz, I picked one up from SoftConnect for under $22 which included express post, next day delivery.

their about $19 CAN here for palm ones, and can be cut to size as the p800 ones are not available locally, but they last a looong ass time and seem to work just fine and you get a bunch in pack, hell get your fellow p800'ers to pitch in and all of you split the price and the number of protectors amongst yourselves if it seems unreasonable still.
