Hi there,
I tried QuickTime and PV Author. The max bitrate i can set in QT is 160kbit and the quality is not that impressive in full screen mode. Although I can set the bitrate in PV author to 200, the quality of the encoder is poor (just like its player). so gurus out there any tips?

I've been encoding using PV Recorder into .3gp
this has given me excellent results with files smaller than MpegableX4live can muster, at a much greater speed.
These work superbly in the Camcorder app (inc.sound)

I started a thread about this just after Camcoder was available. Check it out
here. It should clear things up a little.

I personally don't encode into 3gp with the purpose of playing them in Camcoder because although it is smooth, it's still not as smooth as PVPlayer (in regular view- not widescreen of course), plus Camcoder is still a little too raw for me; I don't like having to play the movies through the File Manager. And it is annoying having to change the backlight and power save settings every time I watch a clip (or I can keep moving the jog dial every minute)
Basically Camcoder can play any resolution, but for fullscreen you probably would want to someting in the 2 hundreds x 2 hundreds. Aim for about 15 frames per second. And with the bitrate, just experiment; if you are encoding a lot of small clips you could probably go a little higher, but if you are encoding larger files you might want it a little lower.
I know this advice hasnt been very specific, its just a bit of a guide. Hope it helps.

Thx Jimmy.
"I can keep moving the jog dial every minute" That's exactly what i did, LOL.
I saw comments about how amazing is the smoothness and quality of camcoder in full screen, so I start making some clips to test it out. It's better than the built-in PV player, but not that impressive to me as u guys mentioned. So I wonder I have chose the wrong setting to make the movie.
yea, the camcoder is still raw, I would probably remove it at next c:\ format
