Hi,
Long shot but i hope it is possible.
I am after one of the two.
1. a navigation software for the phone, gprs? is there such thing?
2. this might be something easier and cheaper if available. something where i could say download a route at home, then put it on my phone. it then can speak to me where to go or maybe show me on the phone. im not after a gprs feature in this whereby it takes me step by step AS I GO, so something on the lines of "go left and drive for 1mile" then i tap the screen or it times me i dunno 2mins, it proceeds onto the next instruction.
is there anything like this?

u mean gps (globl positioning system) at the moment the only thing on offer is a program that uses your networks transmitters 2 triangulate which cell u are in and your approximate position due 2 area code.

www.wayfinder.biz, provides access to GPS routing software. It costs though!

Several times I have installed the free test version of Wayfinder and tried to evaluate it. Despite hours of
work on trying to find out how to do this, consulting
the Wayfinder "manuals", none of which contain any
information on how to get started and what to expect,
I have given up. The info on Wayfinder's web site
is amazingly diffuse, puzzling and imprecise.
If anybody out there has succeeded in getting Wayfinder
to run and perhaps even been able to use it, I would be
very happy to receive a mail with a simple instruction
on how to do it.
Thanks,
Bo

wayfinder is used in conjunction with a small bluetooth device that links the phone to the GPS satalites, the phone itself is not equip with GPS, you need to purchase the bluetooth adaptor.
a navigation software i would recommend is traffic i. this uses GPRS to connect to the traffic i server.
