Guys,

Maybe somebody has an idea for my problem.

Last night i replaced my startup.mp4 with a new one, i did it once before, but forgot this time that the thing can't have any audio, this one had..but oops to late.
When i startup my phone now i plays for a sec and then the error "10 secs" thingy comes up, so basically there's nothing you can do. When i restart the problem still there. Anybody got a clue if you can skip startup screen or maybe some other trick ? WIll a firmware upgrade help and can i still use my backups i made after that. I have R1D.

i made this mistake while trying to through in a .3gp file.

Only option i found was to go the an SE center for a flash.

When upgraded to R2F my restore didnt work, but i think that was because i wasnt using the same Duo for the restore that was in for the backup. I know this will stop it working.

I shouldnt think that an upgrade will stop the restore, but then the jump between R1D and R2F is a big step up.

There would be little point in asking the SE center as you'd be lucky to find one who was also a P800 owner.

Best bet is to wait and get an answer from here before going.
but a firmware flash is needed.

Try the sony-ericsson web site and then
- select Europe as the region
- and Netherlands as the country
- then click on support.
- then dealer locator.
- fill in your address and so on and select the "Alleen dealers met een Service Point" option.
- Click on "Verzenden"

It should show you the closest dealer. Mine is in Raalte (46 km) and I am going today so wish me luck.
