Like others outside the UK, I am having trouble with Bango, ringtones, etc. I managed to set up a Bango account and bought a $10 PIN. I am able to connect to wap.esato.com on my T610 phone (T-Mobile service in the US) and select a ringtone. However, as soon as I click the download link, I am given a Bango error page.

I tried to download ringtones several times. One time I was able to connect to Bango. My screen said "Connecting..." and a small pop-up window appeared with something to the effect of "this page cannot be displayed". It went away and "Connecting..." remained on the screen. Not sure if a download was in progress, I left it alone for about five minutes before finally terminating the connection. When I checked my Bango balance, my account had been debited, but no ringtone had been delivered.

Ugh. Frustrating. Surely there has to be a better way. Why can't we just download the ringtones to our computers and copy them to our phones? At least in the case of the T610, this would be trivial (Bluetooth). In the meantime, does anyone have any idea why this isn't working?

A little update:

I just tried to download again. This time I cleared my cache, passwords, etc. before connecting. I logged into Bango, checked my balance, etc. Everything worked fine. Then I selected the ringtone on wap.esato.com, connected to Bango, approved the transaction, and was shown the "Connecting..." page. The pop-up error message says "There's something wrong with the page you're trying to display."

"Connecting..." remains on my screen. This where it failed last time. Surely my Bango balance will be debited, but no ringtone will arrive. I also tried switching WAP profiles this time from T-Zones to MMS. Not sure what that does, but I figured it couldn't hurt to try.

Esato, I really like your site, but this system SUCKS. You shouldn't make it this hard for customers to buy something.
