> Phone won't ring when headphones are in

Hi
Has a solution been found to this rather critical problem?
I have the headphones in the phone all the time so I can listen to MP3s on the tube, but the phone itself won't ring (only rings in the headphones).
Any ideas?

Hows that a problem then? If the earphones are in your ears and it rings in the earphones! If you want it to ring in the speaker then just simply remove the earphones!

Unless like me you want everyone around you to hear your rendition of wake up (Matrix tune) to be heard by EVERYONE!

I guess I was hoping that someone at SE had enough sense to realise that the phone should have enough flexibility to allow the phone ring/SMS ring to be played through the phone even when the headphones are in.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who was wondering on this one.
Perhaps someone has produced a standalone modification?

I must admit, I read this post and thought "Why would you possibly need that facility?"
But then I realised that I quite often get in from work, having listened to Oggs on the way home, and dump (gently!) my P800 on the table with the headphones still plugged in. It can sometimes stay there for the rest of the night and obviously I miss all my calls!
So on refleciton, an app or feature would be quite useful...

Try modifying your Handsfree profile (or whatever profile is working when your headphones are in) and set it to ring and vibrate and give warning tones etc.
When your headphones are not connected, you are probably using another profile that has all your ring alerts working.

No way to change setting in profiles.
This is a real problem if you use your headphones in the car as hands free. You don't want to drive with headphones on and don't want to have to plug them in every time you answer a call.

agree, but the phone still vibrates... the buzzing on the table should be a discreet attention grabber hmmm? but the headset isnt working on one side now, so i am very pissed off!!!
