does any one know why i get free wap acces on o2 uk? i am on a pay as yo go sim card and i have GPRS and have been using it for 4 months all for free is this normal??

They will be introducing charges very soon. I think its sometime in september.
They will be 2p for the first page and 1p for each page after

The reason why GPRS is free on Pay and go is that o2 did not have the systems to make this a chargable service and in order to do so they would have to change the system they use, which beleave me this just would not be veasible, have they found a work around in the system they are currently using?
And as for the 2p for first page and 1p per page after that, they said that when it was first launched on the o2 network! even the employee's get told that

No offence to O2 but if they charged me for using WAP i'd stop using it! At the best of times it slow, at the worst of times it doesn't work at all!

This is true, but bundled with a sim that gives you 300 free txts a month, and allowing users to download video, apps, games, music, and to send and receive email with attachments all for free, meaning you have access to such information at any time without having to pay, you have got to admit its worth it, agree though if they do start charging which is not possible unless they change there system which is a massive task!! then it is a dull service in comparison, lets hope it stays free
