Last night i had the most terrible accident that i will remember for a long time! In an effort to see the "red planet" in the sky last night i sat on a water tank(a little higher than 1 meter) when it happened! As i was sitting the P800 fell from my pocket, hit the tank and fell on the ground(concrete with small rocks on it!!) with the screen facing the ground. I thought it was doomed but luckily it seems that during the fall the flip somehow opened, so as the P800 was facing the ground during the crash, the screen did not touch the ground,the phone was only hit at the top part and the flip(also the battery cover fell off). The P800 got away with some a couple of minor scratches on the housing but the screen was untouched! Its one of the few cases that the flip protected the screen! I feel lucky!

@Vermania

Your preoccupation with the 'ugliness' of the P800 persists, it seems! This phone fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down, so flip or no-flip, Vaja case or no Vaja-case, there's not a lot we can do to improve it!!

(I've been toying with idea of removing the flip, but now I don't think I'll bother; and I use it too much as a phone and I like the flip in this respect.)

Steven.

I guess the best precaution is not keeping your precious P800 in your pocket, flip or no flip

All that to look at a planet which in actual fact you can see all year round, every year, any year! For what, its a tiny bit twinklier than normal! :lol

Damn glad your P800 survived! Yep, desite what some may say the P800 flip is a handy thing really!

I love the flip, 'cos when its flipped closed most folk don't even notice that your phone is "different", which in turns means no jelousy, which in turns means you won't get mugged for it! Also the flip definately reduced the impact area in the event of any possible damage!

If you observe the image closely you can just make out one of the polar ice caps at the bottom left of the planet. Very nice shot indeed!
