I'm having problems getting my sim to work in my new p800.

When I insert my sim and turn it on it says "No Sim".
I've tried other sims in the phone and they work fine and my sim has always worked in my t68i.

If I push down on the sim and turn the phone on it works fine. I did hae it working by putting a small piece of card above the sim, but I had it upgraded and cant get it to work again!

Has any else had this problem or have any suggestions to how I can fix it?

Cheers,

Simon

If you got to put a piece of card above the sim it must be dirty contacts on the sim as the other sims work try to clean them with care

It works fine in my t68i tho. The contacts seem clean enough, but whats the best way to clean them?

You can get copper cleaner from maplins but its probably not worth it because of the cost or wd40 if you have that but put a small amount on a soft cloth and wipe it best to look at the contacts and see if they are dirty if you see black marks on it then clean it

If the contacts are clean then i cant think of anything else as it should normally work without pushing it down or one last thing you could try is the sim is held in with two metal things at the side about 2mm wide you could try and push them down slightly for better grip

Try putting a layer or two of black tape at the back of the sim not the best solution but its got to be better than a bit of card
