ok i dont get it, i have created the folders in my 128 magic gate using a file manager, transfered some wav and midi to the new folder but when i try to view in my phone i dont see the files i transfered. If i use the PC it will show the memory stick and phone memory, but after clicking the memory stick it doesnt show the folders i created!

You have to do a format. I had to format my magic gate before I got it to work

If u have a mem stik reader u will c that the P800 creates 2 folders on the Duo called

'MSSEMC' which contains another called 'P-Series'

Contained in the 'P-Series' folder are the Media Files/System etc. folders which are only ones viewable on the P800 thru file managers.

This is the reason why if u use lets say a Sony DV Camcorder to record an mp4 on 2 a mem stik, the camcorder saves the mp4 in the root directory, so u cant access it thru the P800 as it doesnt let u access the mem stiks root directory.

It has been discussed in My-Symbian forums that u format the mem stik with a reader as the P800 does not optimise the cluster sizes when formatting which results in eg. a 600kb program taking up 2MB space (the game EXBubble is an example) If the program contains alot of small files the effect is worse.

You need to format the mem stik in DOS/or type the commands in the START>RUN box in XP.

Best format parameters seem 2 be:

*MEMORY STICK 16/32MB

FORMAT [DRIVE LETTER]: /A:2048 /X

*MEMORY STICK 64/128MB

FORMAT [DRIVE LETTER]: /A:4096 /X

--------

Read here for more info
http://my-symbian.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4567

AFAIK I do not think u can apply this procedure to the internal disk.

P.S - (U can get a 6in1 reader dead cheap from
http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd3N1YmNhdGVnb3J5X3BhZ2U=&subcat_uid=400 Hate them like hell for a previous incident but 2 b honest they are dead cheap)

BTW I have noticed that if u custom format the mem stik as above, it doesnt show up when u browse the phone thru Windows Explorer. I can only access it thru the reader, which isnt a problem as its 100x faster anyways
