> Converting Psion 'data' files
Bookmark topic
My Psion 5 mx is dead (yet-another-screen-failure).
I'm switching to P800.
Has anybody experienced the process of converting Psion5 'data' files so the data can be used on a P800 ?
I suppose I will have to use HandyBase or EveryDayBase or maybe something else.
My concern is that I have a large collection of databases, some small, some large and some with memo fields full of 'carriage returns' (which are usually tricky to convert through csv).
I would like, if possible, a straigtforward method.

I have been using HandyBase at P800 for a while and itīs great. Me too had a lot of files at my Psion 5mx(still working) and converted them so I now can use it at my P800. Except the HandyBase you cot a pc converter for free. You can try the demo to check out if you like it.

Thanx janptr.
Can you describe briefly the process needed to convert a psion 'data' file to a Handybase file.
Can the PC converter do that directly or do you have intermediate steps ?

Difficult to explain but it took some time to figure out to do it in the best way. One World Language data file I gave up coz seems to hard to get in right way. You can import and then create the labels afterwards. Very easy to create new data base file just with P800 and no need of pc at all. Just try out the app because you can use it in a limited time. Im sure you will not regret if you purchase it.
