Try to use Search option instead Connect and leave it for a while, it will find your phone ... also be sure to limit your connect speed

Do you use gprs? Do you have the full blue gprs triangle or just the outline. A friend of mine had some problems with battery draining fast. It turned out that the phone was trying to get gprs coverage, but failed. Therefore constantly accessing the network.
