> T610 - PDA - Laptop - IE Problems!

Ok, about 1 month ago I bought myself a SE T610, and to my delight it had an inbuild modem! I decided to give this feature a go on my laptop; connecting through IR.
Anyway, after struggling to get the setting correct i could connect to ANY website i wanted for like 30-100 seconds before all pages would report "Page cannot be found".
Ive also just bought a PDA wich has Pocket IE which i linked up to my t610 to use the net, (again through IR) and i get EXACTLY the same problem. Now one of my freinds said he had the same problem AGES ago and managed to fix it... Apparently he said if i looked in some forums i would fing the solution... But apparently not ^_^
ANY help would be appreciated!!

when you turn on your ir, are you doing it through the "more" function from the standby screen? if so, then the ir only stays on for ten minutes. if this is the proplem, you can correct it by connecting through "connect" option in the menu. from there just go to ir and turn it on. this way, it will stay on until you turn it off.

No, thats not the solution, my freind said it had somehting to do with the settings in IE... He said he would tell me... but hes a lil useless and NEVER has his phone on!

slamEVIL, No, that won't be it. Firstly he says it only lasts 30-100 seconds (i.e. less than 2 minutes) but also that 10 minute IR option doesn't mean 10 minutes only. It means it will automatically turn off 10 minutes after you last use it.

Sounds like a DNS problem.
Are you using GPRS or dial-up (WAP)?
If you are using GPRS you might have to set up a DNS server in the data account on the phone.

I am thinking allong theese same lines, that maybe my pda/laptop are trying to connect with the wrong settings that are compliant for o2? Maybe thats why i cant surf the net anymore after 30-100 seconds?

do you notice that o2 has two setups for gprs ( wap one and web one) . I think your one must be wap one ,that's why the webpages cannot be displayed. For full setup go on this website : www.filesaveas.com
