People
almost 3 months ago i got my p800 on vodafne UK through singlepoint at a phones4U store. i will refresh your memory, the p800 was free when i subscribed to a £66/month contract, the first 3 months were half price then its back to £66/month until the end of the years contract. some people suggested that its possible to change to the lowest tariff of £15/month after 3 or mabey 6 months. i asked about this but different answers from yes 3 months to 6 months before i could change tarrif but the sales person would not sign a statement that i could do this change. i got the p800 anyway and i am now wondering is there anybody that got their p800 on a high vodafone tariff through singlepoint and successfully changes to a lower tariff after first 3 months of contract.

There were a number of people including myself in the UK who took on this expensive monthly tarrif in the hope we could reduce it after 3 months and i am wondering if anyone has changed to a lower tariff. here is an old post i found discussing the situation.

Best people to speak to is singlepoint customer services they r quite helpfull. i was with 02 and singlepoint for a couple of years. i once rang up to go on a slightly higer tariff, before she put the request through she said i wont be able to change it back for a minimum of 3 months. Not sure how it is for Voda.

Just ring them and ask, you would have had your answer by now.

I'd doubt many phone providers would give you a good deal for 3 months then expect to to have to break their backs giving you a good deal for any longer, they'll want their monthly fix or they'll want you to pay the £500 for the phone i'd wager.
I personally hunted round for a package that was a good deal between what i'd have to pay up front and what i'd pay monthly. I ended up using Phonetasticmobile £160 up front and then £35 a month there after, i could afford that easily enough!

Here you go i got my mobile from mobilesuk.net for £180 on a £30 a month contract. when i got my phone i got a letter with it and in this it explains "In the event that you choose to downgrade your tariff within the first 120 days from the day of connection we will invoice you the sum of £100 plus VAT per handset".
But once it had been connected i got a letter from orange explaining how i can change my plan once a month for example if you are going on holiday you can change it to a cheaper plan then wen u get back change it back and so on which is good so when my 1st 3 months are up will be treating maself so a nice cheap tariff.

Tell us how you get on trying to change to a cheaper tarrif after your initial 3 months are up.
l'd expect you'd get hit with a hidden admin/service charge.
Why else would they only charge you £180 for a phone that costs £500. On a £30 a month tarrif, thats another £360, which equals only £40 going towards your actual mobile package, granted the firms will get a discount, but you wont.
Your in for a big suprise if you think you can pull a fast one on a phone company and get their most expensive phone for peanuts.

Never heard of an admin charge for changin tariff all they do is select it on the computer and it is done. Plus with things like that they would have to say it in that letter, the way they usually do this is have the sentence with a * at the end of the sentence, then at the bottom it will have the * and an explanation of what the star means.
